Oliver Berben moves to the top of the film and television production company Constantin Film. The 52-year-old film producer will take over as CEO from Martin Moszkowicz on March 1, 2024, the company announced.

"We are very grateful to Martin Moszkowicz for his many years of professional and loyal leadership and cooperation. Under his leadership, Constantin Film has developed into one of the most successful independent film and television production companies in Europe," said Bernhard Burgener, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Constantin Film. Moszkowicz, who has been a member of the company's management team since 1990, has been CEO since January 1, 2014. During this time, films such as »Fack Ju Göhte 1-3«, »The Perfect Secret« and »The Collini Case« were made.

Since 2019, Moszkowicz has also been head of the Production and Media Management course at the University of Television and Film (HFF) in Munich, where his partner, director Doris Dörrie, also teaches.

Constantin Film is one of the largest and most important film production companies in Germany. For a long time, Constantin was primarily associated with Bernd Eichinger, who died in 2011, and his successful films.

The company had recently come under criticism after allegations of alleged harassment and a "climate of fear" arose during the filming of the Til Schweiger film "Manta Manta – Zwoter Teil". Constantin had the allegations and the working conditions on the film set investigated by an independent law firm. After that, Constantin Film announced that it wanted to sharpen its own production standards.

Martin Moszkowicz will let his contract expire on February 29, 2024 as planned and at his own request, according to the statement. From 1 March, he will work as a producer for Constantin Film. The Supervisory Board of Constantin Film appointed the former Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, Oliver Berben, as Chairman of the Management Board as of March 1, 2024. "We are confident that we have found the ideal successor as CEO in Oliver Berben and are firmly convinced that he will continue and further develop the successful history of Constantin Film," said Supervisory Board Chairman Burgener.

Oliver Berben has been Deputy CEO of Constantin Film AG since January 2021 and heads the TV, Entertainment & Digital Media division. In total, Oliver Berben produced more than 200 television and feature films as well as series, also with his production company Moovie GmbH, founded in 10996, which three years later became a Constantin subsidiary. Berben's mother is the actress Iris Berben.

"It is a great opportunity for me to continue such a visionary and creative company in the spirit of Bernd Eichinger and Martin Moszkowicz and at the same time to be able to set my own accents," Oliver Berben is quoted as saying in the Constantin press release. He is looking forward to "responding to the challenge of global developments in the industry; to seize new opportunities to inspire our audience with innovative ideas and great stories.«
