In October, the family of a 91-year-old woman living in a special nursing home in Nagi, Katsuura City, Chiba Prefecture, contacted the police, saying that she was being abused.
As a result of the police investigation, the suspect Yuna Watanabe (10), a former employee of the facility, was arrested on suspicion of assault for pinching a woman's cheek in September, and according to the police, he admitted to the charge, saying, "I did it as a bullying feeling because it was fun to see the reaction."
In addition, a staff member at this facility, Takumi Sekiya (24), was arrested on suspicion of injury on November 9 for allegedly hitting the same woman in the face and injuring her.
The victim is currently in the hospital due to ill health, and the facility told NHK, "I am full of apologies to the victim and their families, and we will take measures to improve it with the guidance of the prefecture and the city."
