In recent years, the number of cultural relics unearthed from archaeological excavations in Meishan City has reached more than 10,<> pieces, and the age of cultural relics covers the Paleolithic Age, the Neolithic Age, the late Warring States Period, the Western Han Dynasty, the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Three Kingdoms to the Two Jin Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty, the Song Dynasty, the Ming and Qing Dynasties, from the Han Dynasty "drainage project" to the Song Dynasty "artificial canal", from bronze to ceramics, from bamboo and wood lacquerware to gold, silver and jade, with a large age span and wide geographical coverage.

Located in Duoyue Town, Dongpo District, Meishan City, the site of Tancanshan Mountain has undergone three archaeological excavations from 2020 to 2022, and more than 3 stone products such as stone cores and stone chips have been unearthed. "Most of the stone products unearthed at the Tancan Mountain site are made of gravel as raw materials, and according to the photoluminescence dating, it is preliminarily speculated that the oldest age of the stratum buried in the stone products at the site is not less than 500,20 years. It is the earliest Paleolithic site found in the Chengdu Plain, which fills the gap in the Paleolithic archaeology of the Chengdu Plain and will gradually unveil the veil of ancient humans and Paleolithic archaeological culture in the Chengdu Plain. Sun Qian, director of the Bureau of Culture, Radio and Tourism of Dongpo District, Meishan City, and director of the District Cultural Relics Bureau, said that in order to protect and display the site of Tancanshan, Meishan City has compiled the design plan for the protection and display of supporting facilities for the site of Tancanshan, and began to carry out the construction of supporting facilities for the protection and display of the site, and the archaeological site park will be established around the site in the future.

Dengyun Ancient City is located in the territory of Dengyun Village, Songjiang Town, Dongpo District, Meishan City, Group 5, the site is the first Baodun cultural city site discovered in Meishan area, and it is also the ninth Baodun cultural city site found in Chengdu Plain. "At present, Meishan has newly discovered 4 prehistoric sites such as the ruins of Tancanshan Mountain, the ruins of Lianhuaba, the ruins of Dengyun Ancient City, and the Paleolithic ruins of Wuyang." Wang Feng, director of the Meishan Municipal Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting and Tourism, and director of the Municipal Cultural Relics Bureau, said that the ruins of the Lotus Dam and Dengyun Ancient City are of great significance to the establishment of the archaeological and cultural sequence of Meishan City.

In addition, two rounds of archaeological excavations have been carried out at the Lianhuaba site, and nearly 6000,5000 pieces of small stone tools, fine stone tools and pottery dating back to about 1,<>-<>,<> years ago have been unearthed, and rich plant remains have been unearthed. The Lianhuaba site has laid a foundation for exploring the transition between the old and the new and the cultural appearance of the early and middle Neolithic in the Sichuan Basin, and is of great chronological significance.

At present, Meishan City is carrying out archaeological excavations of the ruins of the Confucian Temple and the ruins of Meizhou City, and important cultural relics have been unearthed and related discoveries have been made. Among them, the archaeological excavation and cultural relics protection of the Confucian Temple site are of great significance for exploring the cultural context of Meishan city, sorting out the urban texture of Meishan, and clarifying the thick history of Meishan city.
