The tunnel of the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway was damaged by the construction of the Tokyo Electric Power Company, and repair work began on the night of the 14th by restricting the inner section near the Kasumigaseki Tunnel to one lane. The construction is expected to take until early December, and the Metropolitan Expressway is calling for cooperation in alleviating congestion, such as the use of detours.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway, on November 11, TEPCO Power Grid was carrying out work to bury a cable underground on the Kasumigaseki Tunnel on the central Tokyo Ring Road that passes through Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward, and accidentally damaged the tunnel.

The length of the damage was about 8 meters, and 20 rebars of the tunnel were also cut.

For this reason, the Metropolitan Expressway began repair work on the tunnel at 80 p.m. on the 14th.

As a result, the approximately 8.1-kilometer section from the vicinity of Miyakezaka Junction to the vicinity of the Kasumigaseki exit on the inner loop of the central Tokyo Loop Road has been restricted from two lanes to one lane.

The construction is expected to take until early December, and the Metropolitan Expressway is expected to be congested in the vicinity, so we are calling for cooperation in alleviating congestion by using a detour.

On the other hand, TEPCO Power Grid commented, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused to the Metropolitan Expressway and users, and we will continue to investigate in detail how the damage was caused."
