The chairman of a social welfare corporation in Itoda, Fukuoka Prefecture, was arrested on suspicion of bribery in violation of the Social Welfare Act for allegedly receiving a total of 9400 million yen in cash in return for favors related to the appointment of officers.

The suspect arrested on suspicion of bribery in violation of the Social Welfare Law is Kazunari Imamiya (57), the chairman of the social welfare corporation "Kijukai" in Itoda Town, Fukuoka Prefecture.

In addition, three people, including the former chairman of the corporation, Satoshi Fujii (61), were arrested on suspicion of bribery in violation of the Social Welfare Act.

According to the police, in June, Mr. Imamiya is suspected of receiving a total of 3 million yen in cash on two occasions at restaurants in Tagawa City, after being asked to exercise his authority to exercise his authority to change the director and other officers of the corporation to a person designated by former President Fujii.
