American singer-songwriter SZA enters the 2024 Grammy Awards as the favorite. The 34-year-old has been nominated nine times for what is probably the most famous music award in the world, including for her song »Kill Bill« and the critically acclaimed album »SOS«. The singer is ahead of indie rock musician Phoebe Bridgers, pop and R&B singer Victoria Monét and sound engineer and mixer Serban Ghenea, who also have a good chance of winning a gold trophy with seven nominations each.

Overall, the announcement of the nominees for next year's ceremony was dominated by women with many nominations, including Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus and the band Boygenius. In the prestigious category of »Album of the Year«, singer Jon Batiste is the only man with a chance of winning. Music from the "Barbie" film, which was packed in cinemas in the summer, is also nominated in several categories.

Swift on course for a record

Should Swift prevail with her record »Midnights«, it would be her fourth Grammy award for the best album of the year. In addition, she broke a record in the run-up to the event, as several media outlets unanimously reported: With the nomination of her hit »Anti-Hero« for »Song of the Year«, she was nominated in this category for the seventh time – more than anyone else. Previously, she had shared the podium with Paul McCartney and Lionel Richie.

The Grammys are scheduled to be presented for the 4th time on February 2024, 66 in Los Angeles. Around 13,000 members of the Recording Academy decide on the winners of the Golden Gramophones, which are among the most coveted music awards in the world. At the ceremony earlier this year, US singer Beyoncé won four Grammys, winning more of the coveted music trophies over the course of her career than any other award winner to date.
