Last month, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government began construction to erect a monument with the word "TOKYO" in Harumi Pier Park in Chuo Ward, which was located in the corner of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Olympic Village.

The total cost of the construction is about 1 million yen, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has received about 6000 objections so far, such as "a waste of taxpayers' money" and "it is not convincing to build it as a children's playground."

Regarding this, Governor Koike said at a press conference on the 10th, "We are planning to build a monument to further improve the attractiveness of the waterfront area.
