Chinanews.com, Beijing, November 11 (Wei Xianghui) Recently, the Northeast region ushered in the strongest snowstorm this winter. It is understood that there will be two waves of cold air affecting our country this week, and the temperature in many places in the central and eastern parts of the country will hit a new low in half a year later this week.

How strong is the heavy snowfall in the Tohoku region?

Affected by the first round of cold wave weather this winter, starting from November 11, Northeast China experienced the strongest rain and snow weather process in the second half of this year, with a local snow depth of more than 5 cm, and the precipitation of 40 stations in Northeast China broke the local single-day precipitation record in November.

Monitoring shows that as of 11:7 on November 08, the snow depth in southeastern Inner Mongolia, northern Liaoning, western and northern Jilin, eastern and southern Heilongjiang generally exceeded 5 cm, and the snow in some areas was 15~20 cm. The snow depth in some places in northern Liaoning and eastern Heilongjiang exceeded 25 cm, such as Shuangyashan, Jiamusi and Jixian, all of which exceeded 40 cm. In addition, from 11:5 on November 20 to 6:20 on November 53, a total of 11 stations in Northeast China broke the local single-day precipitation record in November.

A few days ago, the Central Meteorological Observatory held a cold wave blizzard ventilation meeting, and Fang Chong, chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, said in an interview that this round of strong cold air process has a large impact range, strong intensity, complex rain and snow phases, accompanied by strong convection, and extreme snowfall. According to him, the average first snowfall in the Northeast is usually from late November to early December, and the current snowfall is indeed slightly earlier than the average for the same period of the year, but it is not too early.

As for the reason for the occurrence of the blizzard, Dong Quan, chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, explained that the blizzard was mainly caused by the convergence of cold and warm air, and the strong warm and humid airflow carried a large amount of water vapor from the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea to the northeast, resulting in a large amount of precipitation.

The meteorological department reminded that the Northeast and other places have experienced frequent snowfall and snowfall intensity in recent days, and it is necessary to prevent the adverse effects of road ice and snow on transportation.

Temperatures in many places will hit new lows

On November 11, the Central Meteorological Observatory issued four warnings of cold wave, heavy snow, strong wind, and strong convection. Affected by the cold wave weather, on the morning of November 4, the temperature in 11 provincial capitals including Beijing, Xi'an, and Hohhot hit a new low since autumn. In addition, the local cooling range in eastern Gansu, northern Shaanxi, eastern Inner Mongolia and other places reached 6~11 °C.

From November 11th to 10th, the cold air will make the temperature in many places in the central and eastern regions reach a new low, when the minimum temperature of 13 °C line will reach the central part of Huanghuai, Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Zhengzhou The minimum temperature may drop below 0 °C.

In addition, rainfall in Jiangnan and other places needs to be paid attention to.
