The farewell ceremony will take place on November 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the Great Hall of the Philharmonic.

Earlier, the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic named after D.D. Shostakovich announced the death of Temirkanov.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the conductor's family and friends.

He died in hospital. He was 84 years old.

Yuri Temirkanov is a People's Artist of the USSR, a full holder of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, and a laureate of significant Russian and foreign awards. For almost 20 years, he directed the international winter festival "Arts Square" in St. Petersburg.
