In order to raise awareness of the current situation at Narita Airport, where the labor shortage is becoming more serious, volunteers from the local business community and airport companies have started to produce a short film set at Narita Airport.

In the airline industry, the number of employees working at Narita Airport has decreased by about 2,6 compared to six years ago as of February.

Under these circumstances, a production committee made up of volunteers from the local business community and airport companies has started to produce a short film set at Narita Airport in order to make many people aware of the current situation of the labor shortage at Narita Airport and to secure human resources.

The movie "Thank You for the Sky Port" is a 7000-minute short film that depicts the main character, who works as a ground attendant at Narita Airport, struggling amid a labor shortage due to a rapid increase in inbound tourism, and is directed and written by Yuki Saito from Narita City.

Filming began with an adult, and on the 30th, the main character was filmed serving customers in the departure lobby of Narita Airport.

The film is scheduled to be released next summer, and director Saito was enthusiastic, saying, "I want to make a film that conveys the charm of working at an airport while some people have left their jobs due to the Corona disaster."

Toshihiro Katayama, a member of the production committee and general manager of the Narita Airport Company's Strategic Planning Office, said, "Through the film, we want to convey the reality and appeal of the labor shortage in the airline industry, and to secure human resources."
