Lingnan culture has a long history, and Lingnan dance is an important part of Lingnan culture. The first Lingnan Dance Competition was held in 2005, dedicated to discovering dance works with the style of the Lingnan era, the cultural characteristics of Lingnan region, and the folk customs of Lingnan, and cultivating outstanding local dance creative talents. The competition has been successfully held in Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Jiangmen, Dongguan, Heyuan, Shenzhen and other places. In the past <> years, the biennial Lingnan Dance Competition has become the most extensive and influential dance competition platform in Guangdong Province. Each competition focuses on displaying the dance creation and performance achievements of major dance art academies, troupes, cultural centers, grassroots cultural stations, enterprises and institutions in Guangdong Province within two years.

A total of 236 original dance works were registered for the 69th Lingnan Dance Competition, marking a record high in the number of entries. After the preliminary evaluation of experts, a total of 12 original works were shortlisted for the finals, and more than 62,1000 performers from <> participating units in <> prefectures and cities competed on the same stage according to the professional group of small dance drama, professional group of group dance college, non-professional group of group dance college, group dance professional group, group dance non-professional group, solo dance, pas de deux and other groups.
The competition lasts for 6 days and will last until October 10, with a total of 28 finals, 5 awards party and 1 forums.
This year's competition is committed to building a "high-precision and cutting-edge" dance competition brand in Guangdong Province, inviting 16 well-known dance experts such as first-class choreographers, actors, professors and other well-known dance experts as judges, and two experts as supervisors. After the exhibition of each work, the judges scored the performance and creation parts of the work.

From October 10rd to 23st, the competition will hold the 31rd "Top Ten Young Leading Dancers" exhibition in six provinces (regions) in central and southern China, the <>th Lingnan Dance Forum and the <>nd Guangdong Province Senior Training Class for Young and Middle-aged Dance Critics, continuously promoting the development of Guangdong dance art performance and dance theory.
