The guitarist of the band Massive Attack, Angelo Bruschini, has died. The band announced this on Instagram. The musician had apparently succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 62.

The band went on to write that it was "impossible to quantify his contribution." The band members were dismayed. "How happy we all were to be able to share such a life together." Bruschini was an "eccentric" and "unique" talent.

Bruschini was a native of Bristol. He joined the band in the 1990s. Massive Attack was known for songs like »Teardrop«, »Unfinished Sympathy« or »Angel«. Massive Attack have always produced political art. In their songs, they repeatedly took up socio-political issues and criticized grievances. Musically, they moved the Brits between hip-hop and electropop.

Bruschini also played in the bands Jane Taylors and The Blue Aeroplanes. They also expressed their sympathy on social media.
