The presidents of electrical construction companies were arrested on suspicion of encouraging illegal employment for letting Thai nationals who entered the country for tourism purposes work at solar panel installation sites. The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the fact that there is a broker who introduced Thai people to this company.

Four people were arrested, including Kenichi Fujimoto, a Korean national who is the president of an electrical construction company in Ami Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, whose real name is Shizuo Moon, 62, and an employee.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, four Thai men and women in their 4s to 30s who entered the country with a status of residence for short-term stay for tourism purposes are suspected of encouraging illegal employment by letting them work at construction sites where solar panels are installed.

In July, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested 50 Thai nationals in Ibaraki Prefecture on suspicion of illegal stay, and found that they were working for this company with a daily allowance of 4,7 yen to 10,7000 yen.

In response to the investigation, the president admitted to the charges.

This company was contracted by another company to install solar panels mainly in Ibaraki Prefecture, and it is believed that they were working illegally to secure labor and reduce labor costs.
