The Bamberg Public Prosecutor's Office has indicted a teacher who is said to have secretly filmed colleagues in the toilet. In addition to the violation of the most personal area of life by taking pictures, the 60-year-old is also accused of possession of so-called child pornography.

As the Bavarian Central Office for Cybercrime in Bamberg announced, the man from the district of Aschaffenburg had come into the focus of investigators due to a tip from a US online service. Whether there will be a trial will now be decided by the Aschaffenburg District Court.

The suspect allegedly hid a video camera in a staff toilet at his school from December 2018 to January 2020. Two women were filmed going to the toilet. In addition, the man is said to have stored a small number of abuse images on his computer. "Since the seized devices and data carriers were partially encrypted, their evaluation took a considerable amount of time," the authority said.

Possession of images of abuse can be punished with a prison sentence of one to five years. Anyone who violates a person's personal life with images can receive a fine or a prison sentence of up to two years.
