The first conference on cultural relics and archaeology was held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province on October 10-18, in which a number of experts and scholars in cultural relics and archaeology research and representatives of related enterprises shared and exchanged the current new business forms of cultural relics and archaeology research and looked forward to the new direction of future development.

Immersive experiences that bring artifacts to life

In recent years, with the popularity of cultural and museum TV programs, archaeological work has entered the public eye, and archaeological professional experience has been widely used in the development and design of cultural relics archaeology research courses.

This summer, a university student was approved to follow archaeologists at the archaeological site of the Zhengzhou Shangcheng site to learn to clean the formation with brushes and hand shovels and explore the "secrets" left by the Shang Dynasty. In this public welfare study camp called "Follow famous archaeologists to 'seek business'", Henan Cultural Relics Department introduced a luxurious lineup of tutors to guide prospective college students to multi-dimensional, three-dimensional and immersive perception of Yin Shang civilization through topics such as Shang Dynasty clothing research and oracle bone learning.

In Yunnan, the "Nannan Institute of Archaeology" organized and initiated by the Yunnan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology has carefully designed the "Archaeological Time Machine" research project, recruited junior and senior high school students over 12 years old to enter the archaeological site to experience real archaeological work, and extended the content of the "Archaeology +" section, which has become a model for domestic research experience courses.

In addition, professional experience such as cultural relics restorers and cultural and creative designers, practical projects such as plant pounding and dyeing, drilling wood for fire, and ancient jade making have also been integrated into the study courses in various places, which not only enriches the experience of the research participants, but also makes the cultural relics "live" and the research "move".

"Public welfare + market" activates the integrated development of culture and tourism

The integration of culture and tourism is a general trend, and the field of cultural relics and archaeology research is also actively exploring the operation mode of "public welfare + market", which not only ensures the basic operation of the research platform, but also empowers local economic development.

In Sichuan, Sanxingdui Village, where the Sanxingdui site is located, has transformed the idle paradise into the "Sanxingcun Archaeological Exploration Base", setting up three major course themes: field archaeology, ancient Shu craftsman class and ancient Shu village life, attracting a large number of primary and secondary school students and parent-child families to experience and learn. Liu Qinghua, the person in charge of the base, introduced that the cultural relics and archaeology research fever not only creates jobs for Sanxing Village, but also drives the development of village collective industries such as catering, farming, and bronze culture, and is expected to achieve revenue of 2023 million yuan in 400.

In Luoyang, Henan, the Oriental Museum Capital Research Camp effectively integrates the world heritage sites, museums, botanical gardens and other urban cultural resources around the ruins of Luoyang City in the Sui and Tang Dynasties through research and study attitudes, forming a "15-minute study circle" centered on the camp, where participants can wear Hanfu to "dialogue" with Luoyang City in Sui and Tang Dynasties, and can participate in a "script killing" in the museum... The study tour disseminated Heluo culture, realized the integration of culture and tourism, and also helped the cultural brand construction of "walking Henan and understanding China".

Xin Lujiang, deputy director of the Department of Archaeology of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, said that the overall scale of the domestic study travel market has exceeded 100 billion yuan, and archaeological research on cultural relics relying on cultural relics resources has become an important part of it.

Do a good job of "education +" and create a "walking classroom"

At present, students are the main participants in domestic study trips. According to Lv Yuqing, principal of Zhengzhou Zhengdong New District Experimental School, the study of cultural relics and archaeology is an important way to implement quality education and an important starting point for implementing the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and cultivating people.

"The study of cultural relics archaeology allows children to understand the relevant knowledge of cultural relics archaeology, and more importantly, let children explore the roots of Chinese culture, feel the outstanding wisdom of their ancestors, and be proud of the broad and profound Chinese civilization." Lv Yuqing believes that while children feel the charm of archaeology, it also lays the foundation for the successors of China's archaeological cause.

"From archaeological research institutes to archaeological site parks, from archaeological site museums to various large, medium and small museums, various places have launched their own unique research products and services." Xin Lujiang emphasized that as a new method of cultural education and practical education, the foundation of high-quality development of cultural relics and archaeology research is to do a good job in "education +" articles, continuously promote the activation and utilization of cultural relics, give cultural relics new vitality and connotation of the times, and make cultural relics archaeological research sites truly become classrooms for walkers.
