On the 13th of this month, a 2-year-old child from a private nursery school in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture, went outside alone and was found to be under the care of a nearby convenience store about 1 minutes later. Yachiyo City called on the nursery school to prevent a recurrence, saying that it was a serious and life-threatening incident.

According to Yachiyo City, at around 13:10 a.m. on the 45th of this month, a 2-year-old boy who was receiving care at a private licensed nursery school in the city went out alone, and about 1 minutes later, the staff of the school protected him at a convenience store across the road.

A nearby resident was suspicious of the boy entering the store and contacted the kindergarten to find out, so the boy was not injured.

At the time, the boy was playing in the yard with about 20 children, ages 1 and 2, and the three nursery teachers who were accompanying him were unaware that the boy was not there until they were contacted.

It is believed that the boy forgot to lock the gate that goes out of the yard, so he went out of this gate and crossed the busy road into the convenience store.

Yachiyo City is calling on the garden to prevent recurrence, saying, "This is a serious case that threatens lives and should not happen."

In an interview with NHK, Sono said, "We are very sorry and take it seriously, and we will take thorough measures such as changing the key."
