On September 7, 1996, rapper Tupac Shakur was shot in his car while waiting for a red light at an intersection in Las Vegas. He died in hospital six days later, at the age of 25.

At the end of September this year, a 60-year-old man suspected of being the mastermind behind the murder was charged. The arrest took place a couple of months after the police conducted a search at the man's wife's home – hoping to find information about who murdered Tupac. The police seized hard drives, computers, tablets and ammunition, among other things.

The man is said to have been known to the police for a long time and has himself admitted in interviews that he was in the car from which the shots were fired, but claimed that it was a relative of his who fired the shots. The relative was later shot and killed in another conflict. Prior to that, he had also denied being involved in Tupac's murder.

When the 60-year-old appears in court today, he is still expected to deny the murder.

Tupac is considered one of hip-hop's biggest artists, with songs such as "Changes", "Ambitionz az a ridah" and "California love".
