On October 10-17, the 18rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in Beijing. On the evening of the 18th, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and foreign minister, held a Chinese and foreign press conference at the Information Center of the China National Convention Center to summarize the achievements of this summit forum.
Wang Yi introduced that the most important consensus formed by this forum is to open a new stage of high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road". President Xi Jinping pointed out that China is willing to deepen the "Belt and Road" cooperative partnership with all parties and promote the "Belt and Road" to enter a new stage of high-quality development, which has received positive support from all parties.
At the High-level Forum on Connectivity, everyone supported further deepening connectivity, building high-quality, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, strengthening cooperation in transportation, energy resources, water conservancy and other fields, continuously improving the level of "soft connectivity" of infrastructure, and building an open world economy.
At the High-level Forum on Digital Economy, everyone advocated accelerating the construction of the Digital Silk Road and creating an open, fair and non-discriminatory digital development environment. Promote the deep integration of digital technology and the real economy, and promote the healthy, orderly and safe development of artificial intelligence. China launched a global AI governance initiative at the meeting, which attracted great attention from all parties.
At the High-level Forum on Green Development, everyone agreed that we should deepen the Green Silk Road, work together to address the challenges of climate change, strengthen biodiversity conservation, establish green development investment and financing partnerships, and empower green development.
At other thematic forums, everyone looked forward to comprehensively promoting practical cooperation, promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, optimizing the business environment, developing the blue economy, building a clean Silk Road, deepening local exchanges, and carrying out a variety of cultural and artistic education, science and technology, tourism, health, sports and other activities.
