A 20-year-old suspect has been arrested on suspicion of forced indecency for touching the lower body of a woman in her 38s on a JR Saikyo Line.
The suspect was seized on the train and fled from the platform to the tracks, so the Metropolitan Police Department sent documents to the police station on suspicion of violating the Railway Business Law.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect arrested was Satoaki Haga (38), an unemployed man from Adachi Ward, Tokyo, who is suspected of forcible obscenity for taking down the underwear of a woman in her 4s and forcibly touching her lower body in a JR Saikyo Line train that ran between Shinjuku Station and Ikebukuro Station in April.

He denies the charges.

A passenger around him who noticed the act grabbed the suspect's arm and handed him over to the station staff on the platform after the train arrived at Ikebukuro Station, but he saw a plow and jumped onto the tracks and fled.

The suspect is believed to have left the site after running several hundred meters on the tracks, and as a result, three lines, including the Saikyo Line, suspended operation for about 20 minutes, and the Metropolitan Police Department sent documents to the police on suspicion of violating the Railway Business Law.
