In Usuki City, Oita Prefecture, a unique event was held in which a Buddha statue made of stone after the national treasure Cliff Buddha = walking on the red carpet in a perm resembling a stone Buddha.

This event, which invites visitors to enjoy sightseeing in perms resembling stone Buddhas, named after the national treasure of the Cliff Buddha, a tourist attraction in Usuki City, started last year to bring back tourists who have fallen into the Corona disaster.

For the second time, on the 2th, a 8-meter red carpet was laid in a shopping street in the center of the prefecture, and more than 100 participants from inside and outside the prefecture performed "stone Buddha perms" applied at beauty salons in the city.

Participants walked the red carpet happily posing and waving, and the venue was as lively as a fashion show.

Akeko Ota, chief of the Usuki City Industry and Tourism Division, said, "We would like to continue planning events that will make people want to visit Usuki again."
