In March, a 3-year-old suspect believed to be a new leader was arrested on suspicion of robbery and injury in an incident in which men disguised as gas inspectors broke into an apartment building in Toshima Ward, Tokyo, and robbed more than 100 million yen in cash.
He denies the charges.

The suspect arrested was Wang Nan (51), a Chinese national of unknown occupation from Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, in March this year, they broke into a room of an apartment building in Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima Ward, disguised as a gas check, tied the hands and feet of a man and a woman living in the house, and robbed them of more than 3 million yen in cash, etc., and are suspected of robbery and injury.

Five people have been arrested so far, including the perpetrator who broke into the room and the driver of the car used to escape, and Wang is believed to be the instructor.

He denied the charges, saying, "It has nothing to do with me."

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, three other Mongolian nationals are suspected of being involved in the attack:
one person died after a scuffle with the male victim when he broke into the room, and
the other two fled to Mongolia a few days after the incident.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for two people who fled the country, and is considering making international arrangements through ICPO = International Criminal Police Organization in the future.
