On the 23rd, the Hachinohe City Public Health Center determined that food poisoning was caused by the bento and banned Yoshidaya from business due to the problem of people who ate bento boxes from Yoshidaya, an ekiben manufacturer in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, complaining of poor physical condition such as diarrhea and vomiting.

It is said that 21 people nationwide have been found to have food poisoning by the 270st of this month, but since more than 300 people have complained of poor health so far, it is expected to increase further.

According to Yoshidaya, some of the bento rice was purchased from a contractor outside the prefecture, and Yoshidaya clarified on the company's website on the 23rd that "it is possible that the necessary work was not sufficiently done when accepting food."

The public health center also said at a press conference on the 23rd that it was investigating, but pointed out that "I would like Yoshidaya to investigate whether the verification method when delivering from the outside was okay and whether there were any errors" regarding the acceptance of ingredients delivered from outside.
