Xining, September 9 (ZXS) -- The reporter learned from the Qinghai Provincial Water Resources Department on the 18th that according to the newly issued "Qinghai Provincial Water Resources Bulletin 18", in 2022, the Yellow River and Yangtze River basins in Qinghai will be abundant compared with the multi-year average, and Qinghai Lake will continue to expand.

Qinghai is named for its water, the birthplace of the Yangtze River, the Yellow River and the Lancang River, and is the area with the largest and most concentrated concentration of major rivers in Asia, and is known as the "source of the three rivers" and "the water tower of China".

According to the "Qinghai Provincial Water Resources Bulletin 2022", compared with the multi-year average (average of the hydrological series from 1956 to 2016), in 2022, the precipitation of the Yellow River, Yangtze River, southwest and northwest rivers in Qinghai Province was more, and the self-produced surface water resources of the Yellow River, Yangtze River, southwest and northwest rivers in Qinghai Province were more, with a range of 1.1%-24.0%.

Among them, compared with the multi-year average, in 2022, the amount of self-produced surface water resources in the Yellow River Basin of Qinghai was 1% more, the Yangtze River Basin was 10.9% more, and the southwest and northwest river basins were 24.0% more.

In 2022, the amount of surface water exported from Qinghai Province was 658.84 billion cubic meters, 9.6% more than the multi-year average. Among them, the surface water outlet of the Yellow River Basin is 285.56 billion cubic meters, the Yangtze River Basin is 203.16 billion cubic meters, and the southwest and northwest rivers are 170.12 billion cubic meters.

According to the Qinghai Provincial Water Resources Bulletin 2022, Qinghai Lake, China's largest saltwater lake, continues to expand in capacity. In 2022, the annual average water level of Qinghai Lake will be 3196.57 meters, and the water level will increase by 0.11 meters during the year; the annual average water level will correspond to an area of 4531.8 square kilometers, and the water surface area will increase by 6.8 square kilometers during the year; and the water storage will increase by 5 million cubic meters.
