In preparation for the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Tsuruga, a new tourist facility "Komatsu Kyu" opened at Komatsu Station in Ishikawa Prefecture, which will be the stop, on the 18th.

"Komatsu Kyu" is a new tourist facility built by Komatsu City under the overpass of Komatsu Station, which will stop when the Hokuriku Shinkansen opens to Tsuruga City, Fukui Prefecture on March 3 next year, and is named after Kutani ware, a traditional craft that represents the region.

On the 16th, following the restaurants that had started operating ahead of time, souvenir shops selling local specialties in the prefecture and galleries displaying pottery from the Yayoi period excavated in the city also opened, and all the facilities began to open.

At the commemorative ceremony, Mayor Miyahashi of Komatsu City said, "Starting with the opening of the Shinkansen, the city would like to promote initiatives so that it can become a base city on the Japan and seaside side."

Since this gallery can hold events, many families visited the accessory making experience on the 18th.

A woman in her 18s who lives in Komatsu City said, "With the establishment of such a facility in my hometown, I feel that the Shinkansen is coming to Komatsu, and I am looking forward to the opening of the Shinkansen."
