On the 18th of Respect for the Aged Day, an 89-year-old man who was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the oldest surfer visited a surfing pool in Makinohara City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and demonstrated his spectacular wave riding.

Seiichi Sano, 89, who lives in Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture, started surfing at the age of 80 and was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the oldest surfer last July when he was 88 years old.

Sano, who will turn 7 on September 9, visited one of the largest surfing pools in Japan in Makinohara City, Shizuoka Prefecture on September 23, Respect for the Aged Day, and expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I'm excited, and I'm going to enjoy the best surfing pool in the Japan."

A demonstration was held from 90:18 a.m., and when they rode the 8-centimeter-high waves, they skied about 70 meters brilliantly, jumping on the board and turning their bodies.

Next, he boldly challenged the difficult technique of raising one leg behind his back on the board.

Sano said, "Since I started surfing, I don't care about my age at all, and I think it's best to get carried away and enjoy what you love."
