Nanchang, September 9 (Reporter Li Yunhan) On the 17th, the 17 Annual Conference of the Professional Committee of Archaeology and Site Museum of the China Association of Museums and the seminar on "Protection, Interpretation and Operation - Sustainable Development and Future of Archaeological Sites" opened in Nanchang, Jiangxi, with more than 2023 representatives from museums, universities and cultural tourism enterprises across the country attending the meeting.

It is understood that this conference is guided by the China Association of Museums, sponsored by the Professional Committee of Archaeology and Site Museum of the China Association of Museums, and hosted by the Mausoleum Museum of the First Emperor of Qin and the Nanchang Han Dynasty Haidu Marquis Site Museum. More than 130 representatives from the National Museum of China, the Palace Museum, the Mausoleum Museum of the First Emperor of Qin, and the Haidu Marquis Site Museum of the Han Dynasty in Nanchang attended the meeting.

"Archaeological sites carry rich historical and cultural information and connotations, constituting China's million-year human history, 10,000-year cultural history, and more than 5,000-year civilization history, jointly displaying the origin, development context, splendid achievements and major contributions made to world civilization in China." Li Gang, chairman of the Professional Committee of Archaeology and Site Museum of the China Association of Museums and president of the Mausoleum Museum of the First Emperor of Qin, said that in the important period when the archaeology and site museum has entered a new stage of development, how to effectively strengthen the publicity and promotion and transformation of archaeological achievements and how to give full play to the cultural dissemination function of the site museum is a problem that needs to be considered together.

Ding Xinquan, member of the leading party group, deputy director of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and director of the Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, said that in recent years, Jiangxi has adhered to the work policy of protecting first, strengthening management, excavating value, effectively using, and making cultural relics come alive in the new era, while strengthening the protection and management of cultural relics, actively promoting the activation and inheritance and utilization of cultural relics, fully promoting the construction of comprehensive museums in cities and counties, and vigorously developing characteristic museums, especially actively developing heritage parks that rely on the protection and display of heritage sites and take site museums as the center.

After the opening ceremony, Liu Shuguang, Chairman of the China Association of Museums, gave an academic lecture on the topic of "Archaeology and Museums in Response to the Times". An Lei, Deputy Director of the Institute of Cultural Relics Protection Planning and Design of the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage and Secretary-General of the National Archaeological Site Park Alliance, and Li Jugang, President of the Hanjing Diyang Mausoleum Museum, respectively delivered keynote speeches on the topics of "Several Key Issues in the Construction of National Archaeological Site Parks" and "Some Thoughts on the High-quality Development of Archaeological Site Museums in the New Era".
