From the morning of the 8th to the 9th, cities and counties in the western part of the Pearl River Delta, as well as Yangjiang, Maoming and Yunfu, experienced heavy rain to heavy rain and local exceptionally heavy rain.

According to meteorological and hydrological monitoring, from 8 o'clock on the 8th to 9 o'clock on the 8th, the average rainfall in Guangdong Province reached 35.4 mm, with 22 towns and streets recording exceptionally heavy rain exceeding 250 mm, 129 town streets recording heavy rain of 100 mm to 250 mm, and 253 town streets recording heavy rain of 50 mm to 100 mm. Among them, Lingmen Town, Maoming Dianbai District, recorded 460 mm of rainfall, and Xitou Town, Yangjiang Yangxi County, recorded 447 mm of rainfall.

This round of heavy rainfall lasted for a long time, and the rain in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan and other places temporarily stopped on the 9th, but from the 7th to the 8th, the rain in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Foshan was the most serious. During this period, the heavy rain and disaster situation in Guangdong received widespread attention, and relevant live videos were widely disseminated on the Internet.

Due to the continuous heavy rainfall, Guangshen Buddha experienced waterlogging to varying degrees from the 7th to the 8th, and the disaster relief work is currently in order.

From the evening of the 7th to the morning of the 8th, heavy rain poured in Shenzhen, causing the traffic on many roads in the city to be paralyzed for a while, and the depth of water in some sections could reach the waist of adults. The rainfall broke six historical extremes since meteorological records began in Shenzhen in 1952.

Affected by the continuous heavy rainfall in Shenzhen, there was a flooding disaster at the entrance and exit of the station on the negative first floor of Shenzhen Railway Station (Luohu) on the 8th, and the stagnant water and debris have been basically cleaned up. Due to the need for further commissioning of equipment and facilities such as security checkers and self-service ticket gates, the Guangshen intercity waiting area and exit gate on the first floor of the negative floor continue to be closed. In order to ensure the safety and smooth travel of passengers, Shenzhen Railway Station has adjusted the entry line, and passengers taking the Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity need to go to the ticket gate of the long-distance train waiting room on the second floor through the first floor entrance to board. At the same time, 9 trains between Guangzhou and Shenzhen were suspended on the 56th.

The rainfall from the 7th to the 8th also broke the rainfall record in many places in Guangzhou, with Nancun Town, Panyu District, recording 24.409 mm of rainfall in 5 hours. At about 8 o'clock on the 3th, about 50 meters of the wall (non-cultural relics) of Yuyin Mountain, one of the four major gardens in Lingnan, located in Panyu District, was washed away by rain, but fortunately, the cultural relics of Yuyin Mountain House were not affected, and there were no casualties.

"Guangzhou has the heaviest precipitation process this year." Meteorological experts said that according to the division standards, the city's heavy rainfall process from 7 o'clock on the 8th to 8 o'clock on the 8th reached a particularly serious level, which was the third heavy rainstorm process in the city in the past 10 years, and flooding occurred in many sections of the city.

"From 8:0 to 11:25 on the 200th, our brigade evacuated, rescued and transferred more than <> people." Panyu firefighters told reporters that the torrential rain not only caused flooding in some sections of the local road and the inability of vehicles to pass, but also caused many people to be trapped in residential buildings by stagnant water, and the team members stayed up all night to carry out rescue and transfer work in time.

According to meteorological and hydrological monitoring, from 5 o'clock on the 8th to 9 o'clock on the 8th, the cumulative rainfall in Donghu Street, Luohu District, Shenzhen reached 617.3 mm, the cumulative rainfall in Lecong Town, Shunde District, Foshan reached 475.1 mm, and the cumulative rainfall in Nancun Town, Panyu District, Guangzhou reached 470.5 mm.

The Guangdong Meteorological Bureau predicts that from the 9th to the 10th, there will still be heavy rainfall in cities and counties in western Guangdong and the southern part of the Pearl River Delta; From the 11th to the 12th, there was moderate rain, locally heavy rain or heavy rain in cities and counties in southern Guangdong Province.
