In Pool I where no team was qualified or eliminated at the start of the last day, it was DR Congo and Mauritania who hit the jackpot. The Congolese secured their ticket against Sudan (2-0), just after Mauritania took out Gabon (2-1).

This was the group designated as the "dead" group after the draw nearly 18 months ago. He will have kept all his promises with a verdict on the last day. Qualified: DR Congo and Mauritania; eliminated: Gabon and Sudan.
