Singer Joe Jonas, who has been married to British actress Sophie Turner since 2019, wants a divorce. According to court documents in Miami Dade County, Florida, Jonas filed the motion to dissolve the marriage. The spokesmen for the couple did not initially respond to a request from the dpa news agency. According to U.S. media reports, Jonas claimed in the motion that the marriage was irretrievably broken.
The 34-year-old Jonas Brothers frontman and the 27-year-old actress have two daughters born in 2020 and 2022. Jonas and Turner got engaged in 2017 and then tied the knot twice in 2019 – in Las Vegas in May and in France in July.
With his brothers Kevin and Nick, Joe had founded the band Jonas Brothers in 2005, which is swarmed by teenagers. The group broke up in 2013, but made a comeback six years later with the album »Happiness Begins«. The brothers pursued solo careers and stepped in front of the film cameras. Currently, the trio is back on tour in the USA.
Turner is from Northampton, England. She became world famous with her role as Sansa Stark in the series »Game of Thrones«. She also played Jean Grey in the films »X-Men: Apocalypse« (2016) and »Dark Phoenix« (2019).
