At an exhibition facility for living creatures in Suita City, Osaka, a baby "mini hippopotamus" born last month has begun to be open to the public.

At Nifrel, a creature exhibition facility in Expo Commemorative Park in Suita City, Osaka, a baby mini hippo was born on the 17th of last month, and from this month it is open to the public how she spends time with her mother "Furfuru".

At the facility, the glass in the exhibition area is covered with sheets so that Furfuru can raise their children calmly, but you can see the state of parents and children through the small windows on the wall.

Visitors walked in pursuit of Furfuru, watched and photographed the cute babies as they entered the pool and put their faces in the water.

A four-year-old boy from Shiga Prefecture with his family said, "It was nice to see the baby under his mother's tummy."

Only 13 mini hippos, which live in a limited area of West Africa, are considered to be at risk of extinction and are bred in Japan, including the baby born this time.

Mr. Shunsuke Sawa, who is in charge of breeding, said, "I would like you to see them toddle after their mothers and the cute whip whip that can only be seen at this time of year."
