At a swimming pool in Shinshiro City, Aichi Prefecture, we learned that a man in his 7s had an accident in July when he amputated his finger on a waterslide.

According to Shinshiro City, on July 7, a man in his 29s in Yokohama City had an accident in which the tip of the little finger of his right hand was amputated on the waterslide of the pool of "Horaiyu~Yu~Aariina," a facility such as a hot spring and pool in the city.

The man slipped when he used it alone, and the little finger of his outstretched hand slipped off while being caught between the slider and the handrail, and the tip of the finger was amputated from around the first joint.

The man was taken to a hospital in Toyohashi City for treatment, but his fingers could not be spliced and he is still undergoing treatment.

This facility is managed and operated by Shinshiro City to a designated manager, and at that time there were seven or eight users, and one lifeguard was in charge of monitoring the entire pool.

The facility will suspend the use of waterslides for the time being.

Shinshiro City is investigating the circumstances of the accident and commented, "In the future, we will ask the manager to strive for safe operation to prevent accidents."
