It's the big return of the "Best Pastry Chef" this Wednesday evening on M6. For this twelfth season of the pastry competition, viewers will find Cyril Lignac and Mercotte, who will have to judge 16 candidates. Small particularity: Marie Portolano, who left M6 for France 2, will still host the program...

This is unheard of! Marie Portolano, who left the M6 group to join France 2 in September, remains at the helm of the Best Pastry Chef... And for a simple reason: the journalist shot the new episodes of the famous pastry contest before signing her contract for Télématin. Marie Portolano has been co-hosting this public service show with Thomas Sotto since early September.

Complementary audiences

With his back to the wall, M6 did not want to cut Marie Portonalo during editing... The journalist therefore hosts two different programs on two competing channels. An exceptional situation that should not disturb the viewers of the Best Pastry Chef, not really fans of Télématin, and vice versa ... "The audiences of Télématin and Meilleur Pâtissier are complementary so I think there won't be many people who will see both [...] Marie is absolutely present in the program as she would have been if she had stayed with us, "said Guillaume Charles, member of the Management Board of the M6 Group in charge of programs and content Monday on franceinfo.

The return of the technical test

For this new season, viewers will obviously find the unbeatable Cyril Lignac and Mercotte, always as complicit, greedy and picky about the recipes of the candidates. The latter will, as every year, be confronted with the most feared (and formidable) test of the competition: the technical test. And Mercotte'sSecret Kitchen will also be back in the second part of the evening to draft an eliminated candidate.
