In an accident with a combine harvester in the district of Rostock, a man got into the machine with both legs and was seriously injured. The 25-year-old noticed on Saturday afternoon in Hohen Luckow when emptying the bunker of the agricultural machine that a feeder was clogged with grain, as the police announced on Sunday morning.

When trying to remove the blockage, the man got into two counter-rotating screw conveyors with both legs for unknown reasons. Due to the severity of the injuries, a medical emergency team from the University Medical Center Rostock was deployed on site.

For about two hours, the rescue workers tried to free the man from the combine harvester, as reported by the "Ostsee-Zeitung" and NDR. When this failed, the emergency team amputated both legs of the 25-year-old on site. For this purpose, a mobile operating room had been set up on the field. According to police, the man was then taken to the hospital for further treatment.
