The US broadcaster NBC is already diligently promoting its broadcast of the Olympic Games in Paris in the summer of 2024 - and is relying on a world-famous advertising face with Dolly Parton. The 77-year-old country singer has now published a video on her YouTube channel in which she performs a medley: It consists of the box office hit "We Are The Champions", which is also established in the sports world, and the song "We Will Rock You" by the British cult band Queen.

The clip is accompanied by sequences of the Olympics and the French capital: Dolly Parton in an empty stadium, sprint, fireworks, flag race, Olympic flame, Dolly Parton in a gold, silver and bronze dress in front of the Eiffel Tower, Olympic rings, medals, tears, synchronized jumping. At the end of the video, it says, united from numerous throats: "We will, we will rock you".

"I'm laughing, I'm crying, I'm screaming"

Parton told the Hollywood Reporter that she was a big fan of the Olympics. I do my best to make my schedule so that I can see as much of it as possible. I record everything on video, in case I miss the live broadcast on a certain day, and watch it again as soon as possible," she said.

"I'm laughing, I'm crying, I'm screaming; there are no losers at the Olympics, because everyone has been preparing for it for a lifetime, but I celebrate with those who go home with gold, silver and bronze medals," she continued.

With the single, the singer, who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is also beating the drum for her new album »Rockstar«. The album is scheduled for release in November. On it are mainly cover versions of legendary rock songs (read more about it here). Parton himself became world-famous with the songs »Jolene« and »I Will Always Love You«, among others. In the fall, she will publish a book about herself.

The Summer Olympics will be held in the French capital from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
