How will the way we travel change in the future? How can digital technology and "dual carbon" scientific and technological achievements make public transportation smarter and more environmentally friendly? At the recently held 2023 World Transportation Conference, a large number of black technologies related to the future development of transportation were unveiled.

"Ground flight" will fill the gap between high-speed rail and civil aviation

High-speed maglev train is a new transportation system with high speed, safety, green and intelligence. As a "small aircraft" flying close to the ground, it will fill the gap between high-speed rail with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour and civil aviation with a speed of nearly <>,<> kilometers per hour.

Ding Sansan, deputy chief engineer of CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive and Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., said during the conference that in terms of actual travel time, high-speed maglev trains are the fastest transportation mode within a distance of 1500,<> kilometers, which is suitable for both medium and long-distance travel and urban commuting.

On July 2021, 7, CRRC undertook to develop the world's first high-speed maglev transportation system with completely independent intellectual property rights in Qingdao, marking that China has mastered the complete set of high-speed maglev technology and engineering capabilities.

In contrast, suspended tunnels in the water are more sci-fi.

Wu Zhiwen, associate professor of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Guangxi University, introduced at the meeting that there are many deep strait bay channels with wide water areas in the world, and it is difficult to achieve connectivity with long-span bridges and deep tunnels, and the idea of suspended tunnels was proposed.

Unlike general submarine tunnels, suspended tunnels are tubular tunnels suspended in water by their own gravity, buoyancy and anchorage forces. Its advantage is that it is not limited by span and water depth, and can be built in long spans, deep water levels, and steep places.

However, the solution currently faces a number of challenges. Weng Mengyong, chairman of the China Highway and Transportation Society, said that the suspended tunnel is the frontier direction of the future submarine tunnel construction, and hopes that the relevant technology can mature and land as soon as possible.

Digital technologies will bring important shifts to the transportation industry

At this conference, the participating experts generally believed that the integration of the digital economy and the real economy has become the main line of construction of a transportation power.

At present, China has built the world's largest transportation infrastructure network, and many indicators such as high-speed rail highway mileage, bridge scale, and port throughput rank first in the world, but there is still much room for improvement in management efficiency and service experience.

Taking traffic accidents as an example, at present, it takes at least ten minutes from discovery, reporting to disposal, which will not only aggravate congestion, but also be prone to secondary accidents.

In this regard, Tang Daosheng, senior executive vice president of Tencent Group and CEO of Tencent Cloud and Smart Industry, said that a "full-link intelligence" system from perception, computing, decision-making and control should be built. Create a real-time twin that predicts traffic that will occur in the next moment based on current trends, helping management make real-time decisions and improve processing efficiency.

Hu Ang, a foreign academician of the Japanese Academy of Engineering and a specially appointed professor at the University of Tokyo, introduced that the digital twin city created in this area fully corresponds to the real environment, and the changes of the real city will be fed back to the digital twin in real time, and the digital space can also simulate and deduce the real city accordingly, forming an efficient cycle of online and offline urban design and management.

In addition, a number of digital smart technologies were unveiled at the conference. The prefabricated intelligent construction technology brought by China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. can build subway stations like building blocks; The complete set of industrialized intelligent construction technology and equipment of steel bar parts constructed by CCCC Second Aviation Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. has been successfully applied in the project, changing the traditional construction mode of tower column steel bars, replacing labor with machines to the greatest extent, improving the quality and efficiency of bridge construction, and reducing construction costs and safety risks.

Liu Wenjie, Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of the Conference, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Highway and Transportation Society, said that the combination of digital and transportation will bring important changes and improvements to the application scenarios and service levels of the transportation industry.

The integrated development of transportation and energy promotes the realization of the "dual carbon" goal

"Low carbon" is one of the keywords of this conference.

Urban rail transit is a "big energy consumer". At the meeting, the urban transportation energy intelligent management system exhibited by China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. can establish a comprehensive energy measurement system, monitor, diagnose, optimize and intelligently supply energy consumption of urban rail transit, and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 174 tons per kilometer in the future.

Promoting the realization of the "dual carbon" goal through the deep integration of transportation and energy has become the consensus of the participants.

Gan Yong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, believes that China's energy structure will continue to be optimized and adjusted, and the key point of promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of transportation lies in the low-carbon substitution of power and the improvement of energy efficiency of transportation vehicles.

Yang Zhongsheng, chairman of CCCC Second Highway Survey, Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., believes that in the construction of highway infrastructure, the realization of the "dual carbon" goal cannot be limited to the simple stacking of low-carbon technologies or low-carbon materials, but must be considered from the whole construction cycle, which requires the coordination of material production, survey and design, construction, operation and maintenance, disposal and recycling.

Song Ling, chairman of China Energy Construction Gezhouba Group, said that the company will take the promotion of integrated development of transportation and energy as a breakthrough and entry point to promote the green and low-carbon transformation of transportation, and use the land resources and space resources of Shandong Zaohe Expressway to implement new energy development in the whole region and promote energy conservation, emission reduction and carbon reduction. In the future, the company will continue to explore the deep integration of energy management and intelligent transportation, dig deep into the value of road resources, and promote scientific and technological innovation, business model innovation, and market-oriented large-scale development.
