A 58-year-old bus driver is said to have not let more than 40 elementary school children in Lower Saxony out of his bus in a parking lot. The bus ride from the primary school in the city of Verden an der Aller took much longer than normal due to a traffic jam, police said.

In a parking lot, the bus driver should be replaced for health reasons, said a spokesman for the police. While waiting for the new driver, he did not let the children get off the air-conditioned bus for between 10 and 30 minutes, according to the information.
