Guinean midfielder Naby Keita, who was out of contract with Liverpool, has signed with Werder Bremen, the German club announced on Friday. "Werder is a special club and I know the Weserstadion from playing there with Leipzig. The club and the philosophy suit me, it's the right choice for me, "said in a statement the Guinean international. While playing for RB Leipzig, Keita joined Liverpool in 2018, where he won with the Reds the Champions League, and the domestic titles of the Premier League, the FA Cup and the League Cup.

«

Last year he was still on the pitch in the Champions League final, he brings a lot of international experience to the squad, which we will benefit from as a team," said Werder coach Ole Werner.

Bremen finished 13th in the Bundesliga this year, two places ahead of relegation in their first season after their rise to the German top division.

Keita impressed in his two years in Germany, scoring 17 goals and providing 15 assists in 71 appearances for Leipzig, which earned him a €65m transfer to Liverpool.
