From New York to London, a new exhibition tells the story of Freddie Mercury

Freddie Mercury is honored by an incredible traveling exhibition that has just started in New York and should end in London. Thousands of objects that belonged to the singer are presented to the public for the first time. Objects whose selling price is estimated at several million dollars.

In a few piano notes, we recognize the title Bohemian Rhapsody, which has become cult. This music, written by Freddie Mercury nearly 50 years ago, now has its manuscript on display for the very first time. There are also stage costumes or paintings...

The opportunity to discover the way of working of the rock singer. "You can see on the draft of Bohemian Rhapsody, there are a lot of scribbles, erases... You can feel the intensity of this song. Manuscripts of other songs are more organized. 'We are the Champions' for example, just by looking at the sheet, you can almost hear the famous rhythm," explains Cassandra Hatton, the exhibition manager.

« A visionary »

For Queen fans, these extremely rare objects are proof, if one were needed, of Freddie Mercury's genius. "To be able to discover the work of such a talented artist like this on paper, it's incredible!" says one visitor. "He was a visionary! He could project himself into the future and he broke the codes, "adds another.

The exhibition, curated by Sotheby's, is just a small part of a collection of more than 1,500 Freddie Mercury's personal items that are expected to be auctioned at a major event in London.
