At the Takasakiyama Nature Zoo in Oita City, which is known for feeding wild monkeys, the head of the group called Group B changed to a male "Goro" and an inauguration ceremony was held.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the monkey gathering area of the Takasakiyama Nature Zoo, and a banner celebrating the inauguration was unveiled when Goro, the new leader of Group B, jumped on a sweet potato with a string attached to it.

Goro, who became the top of the 19th generation, is an estimated 16-year-old male, a popular person who takes good care of himself in the herd, and has a reliable side that fights at the front when there is a conflict with other flocks.

In Group B, which has about 640 monkeys, the female monkey "Yakei" defeated the male monkeys one after another in a fight, and since July they have been at the top for the first time as female monkeys.

However, recent Yakei has been seen to avoid Goro when approaching or give him food, so the zoo has certified Goro as the top.

However, these two cats used to be in love, and they still groom each other.

One of the visitors said, "I think Goro will be a great leader because he is so consistent and very cool."

Satoshi Kimoto, a guide at the Takasakiyama Nature Zoo, said, "I have high expectations for Goro's future activities as a handsome monkey representing Mt. Takasaki, and I would like to pay attention to the relationship between Yakei and Goro in the future."
