An organization made up of medical professionals investigated health insurance cards integrated with My Number Cards and found that at least 37 cases were confirmed in which other people's information was linked.

This month, the National Federation of Health Insurance Physicians' Associations, an organization made up of doctors and dentists, conducted a survey through health insurance associations nationwide and received responses from more than 27,2800 medical institutions in 37 prefectures.

Of these, at least 2 cases were confirmed in which the information of another person was linked, and in addition to the person's information, there were cases where information for two people with different names and dates of birth was displayed.

In addition, nearly 6% of the medical institutions that started operating the system answered that they had some kind of problem, specifically ▽ insured person information was not reflected correctly, ▽ there were many cases where ▽ reading was not possible due to a problem with the reader, computer, or card.

In addition, there were cases where the full cost was collected from the patient at the counter because the information could not be confirmed.

Noriyu Sumie, chairman of the group, said, "If information is leaked to others, it is a serious problem that makes it possible to identify individuals, so we should temporarily stop the operation and conduct a check."

In response to a series of problems, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has requested health insurance unions to check whether they have entered the information according to the rules and report it by the end of July.
