Under the unified deployment and command of the Yunnan Provincial Public Security Department, the Kunming Municipal Public Security Bureau continued to promote the "Thunder 2023" special operation "Strike No. 1" to crack down on cross-border illegal crimes and the large-scale investigation and rectification operation of social security.

In early May 2023, the Kunming Municipal Public Security Bureau discovered an overseas gambling website during its work, which used games as a disguise and used online APP to solicit a large number of agent gamblers to participate in illegal and criminal activities of online gambling in China, and multiple gangs provided promotion and fund settlement for the website.
After careful investigation by the special case team, after grasping the information of the suspects involved in the case, it immediately dispatched police forces and divided the troops into multiple routes to arrest the suspects involved in the case, and successfully arrested 21 suspects in Kunming, Qujing, Honghe, and other places. At the same time, the city's police forces were organized to collect the net in a centralized manner, and 411 criminal suspects were arrested successively, and more than 60,<> yuan of property involved in the case was seized.
