Filming for next year's NHK Taiga drama "To the Bright Boy" has begun in Kyoto, and Yuriko Yoshitaka and Tasuku Emoto, who will star in the film, spoke about their enthusiasm.

Next year's Taiga drama, "To the Luminous Kimi," is set in the Heian period, when aristocratic culture flourished, and depicts the life of Murasaki Shikibu, known as the author of The Tale of Genji.

Filming began on the 28th at Heian Jingu Shrine in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, where actor Yuriko Yoshitaka, who plays the main character Murasaki Shikibu, and actor Tasuku Emoto, who plays Michinaga Fujiwara, worked to shoot each scene.

After the shoot, Yoshitaka and Emoto talked about their enthusiasm for the drama.

Ms. Yoshitaka said, "Murasaki Shikibu in this drama is a curious and multi-sensitive girl, and I hope to express how The Tale of Genji will be portrayed as Murasaki Shikibu grows."

Mr. Emoto said, "We had a very good start today, so we want to keep this momentum going and shoot with a sense of tension."

NHK's Taiga drama "To the Glowing Boy" is scheduled to be broadcast from January next year.
