She is the longest-serving "Tagesthemen" presenter, now Caren Miosga is apparently facing a new task: As the "Bild" newspaper reports, the 54-year-old is to replace Anne Will in January next year at the big TV talk show on ARD on Sunday evening.

When asked by SPIEGEL, an ARD spokeswoman said that they are currently developing a coordinated talk concept together. "Norddeutscher Rundfunk is holding talks with Caren Miosga about the successor to Anne Will for a political talk show on Sunday evening on Das Erste. The broadcaster will not comment on ongoing negotiations. As soon as there are binding agreements, the NDR will inform about them.«

On June 20 and 21, a meeting of the artistic directors will take place, where the successor to Anne Will will be discussed, according to ARD. Subsequently, the committees of the broadcaster concerned would have to approve the personnel. Informally, however, according to the "Bild" newspaper, Miosga has already been committed.

»A new start announced«

Miosga has been the longest-serving "Tagesthemen" spokeswoman since September last year. Ulrich Wickert congratulated her on this in the news program. For 15 years and two months, Wickert had moderated the "Tagesthemen". On July 16, 2007, Miosga took over the moderation of the ARD »Tagesthemen« from Anne Will.

Since September of the same year, Anne Will hosted the talk show of the same name, taking over the slot of »Sabine Christiansen«. In mid-January of this year, Will announced that she would be shutting down her talk show. »In 2024, a new start is announced! Then it's time for change, other projects, new perspectives," she explained at the time.
