Guest of the show "Les Rencontres du Papotin" broadcast this weekend on France 2, Angèle revealed to be pansexual. A form of sexuality that is still unknown to the general public and that the Belgian singer has managed to define with ease. So what exactly does this term mean?

Angele doesn't want to let anyone talk about her sexuality for her... The Belgian singer, who was forced to come out after the front page of a celebrity magazine revealing her relationship with Marie Papillon, now controls her own story. Guest of the show Les Rencontres du Papotin this weekend on France 2, the popstar agreed to confide in her sexuality. "I'm bi. I would even say that I am pansexual, I am pansexual. I can fall in love with a boy, a girl, a non-binary person, a transgender person," she revealed before explaining what pansexuality is: "In fact it's not a choice, I don't choose to fall in love, it's just someone."

When Angele falls in love, it's a person, not a gender. ❤️

Angele took a while to tell her family that she was in love with a girl

Pansexuality remains a form of sexuality that is very unknown to the general public. "Pansexuality is defined as the sexual, emotional, romantic, or spiritual attraction to others regardless of their biological sex, gender expression, or sexual orientation," author Kim Rice writes in The Encyclopedia of Human Sexuality (2015). Pansexuality should therefore not be confused with bisexuality, which corresponds only to attraction to either women or men. Unlike pansexuals, bisexuals are not attracted to the "third sex" or people of another gender.

Miley Cyrus and Cara Delevingne are pansexual

Angele isn't the only celebrity who defines herself as pansexual. Christine and the Queens was the very first star in France to come out pansexual. It was in 2014, on the set of On n'est pas couché. Model Cara Delevingne is also pansexual. "I feel different all the time. Sometimes I feel more feminine. Some days I feel more like a man. I think I will always remain pansexual. I fall in love with the person, and that's it. I'm attracted to the person," she said in an interview with Variety. Another star who defines herself as pansexual: Miley Cyrus. The Flowers singer, who was married to Liam Hemsworth, hates the term "bisexual" which puts her "in a box".
