In Germany, summer temperatures are expected in the coming days. From the Mediterranean region, much warmer and sometimes humid air comes to us, said meteorologist Robert Hausen from the German Weather Service. That's why temperatures rose to 23 to 28 degrees by Sunday. "And all of a sudden, it's summer," said Hausen.

Only on the coasts and in the higher mountains it remains a little cooler. At the beginning of the week, partly strong thunderstorms are possible. Especially in the western half of Germany, it could occasionally "get a little more violent".

28 degrees are possible

On Saturday, denser cloud fields appeared in the sky, but in between there could also be sunny periods. In addition, spring-like temperatures of 17 to 23 degrees are expected, only on the coasts it remains cooler, as the DWD announces. In the Alps as well as over the eastern highlands, isolated showers or thunderstorms and heavy rain are possible.

According to the forecast, it will be particularly sunny in the east and south on Sunday, otherwise clouds will also form. Only in the northwest and over the southwestern German mountains, isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible. The maximum temperatures on the coasts and in the mountains would be up to 20 degrees. Otherwise, between 23 and 26 degrees are expected, in the east and south even up to 28 degrees are possible. In addition, moderate and at times strong gusty winds blow from northeast to east.

Monday will start cheerful. In the west and northwest, as well as over the southwestern German mountains, showers and thunderstorms could develop. The DWD also warns of local storm hazards due to heavy rain. It will be warm in summer with temperatures of 25 to 29 degrees. At the sea and in the higher mountains, around 22 degrees are reached.
