Recently, Tao Leixin won the "National Free Blood Donation Gold Award", which is also the third time he has won the national free blood donation award, and thus won the "Lifetime Honor Award".
Recalling the first time he participated in unpaid blood donation, Tao Leixin remembered it vividly. In May 2008, after the Wenchuan earthquake, Tao Leixin came across a blood collection truck at a blood station in the center of Huaihua on the street, and he walked over to pick up a blood donation brochure. At that moment, he saw the tragic picture of the Wenchuan earthquake in front of his eyes, and his mood could not calm down for a long time, so he walked on the blood collection truck and successfully donated blood under the guidance of the blood station staff.
"I am thrilled to think that I can dedicate my modest strength to help patients in urgent need of blood transfusions and save more people!" Recalling his mood when he received his blood donation certificate, Tao Leixin was still very excited.
A good act has become a habit that Tao Leixin is accustomed to. After his first blood donation, he began to learn more about donating blood and focused more on maintaining good health. Once, the blood station staff told him after a blood test that he had a relatively high level of platelets in his body, which was suitable for "platelet-apheresis" blood donation.

Through further understanding, Tao Leixin learned that platelets can play an important role in the treatment of patients with abnormal platelet function and number and heavy bleeding, and the supportive treatment of tumor radiotherapy patients, so he took the initiative to join the emergency blood donation team of platelet apheresis. During the day, he drove the train through the railway line, rolled up his sleeves at night, and lay next to the blood cell separator, bringing hope to more people.
In the past 15 years, Tao Leixin has donated whole blood 6 times and platelet machine 68 times, becoming an "old friend" of the blood station. One by one, the records of free blood donation witnessed Tao Leixin's road of love.
