Nanning, May 5 (Zhongxin Net) -- Nanning International Poetry Week opened in Nanning, Guangxi on the 13th, and more than 13 famous poets, poetry critics and poetry translators from China, Vietnam, Russia and other countries gathered in Nanning to meet friends with poetry.

"On those sundays when it didn't rain, we sat in the narrow doorway watching the flowers fall and the sky seemed to be dyed purple..." At the opening ceremony, Vietnamese poet Nguyen Thi Mei Juan recited a poem in Vietnamese and Chinese called "Sunday Without Rain."

According to Nguyen Thi Mei Juan, the poem "Sunday Without Rain" was written in 2017 to commemorate her first trip to Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. "There is a line in the poem, 'I picked up purple flowers and made them into garlands and gave them to you, my mother', this is the scene where my son picked up purple flowers and made them into garlands to give to me, and I wrote it into the poem." Nguyen Thi Mei Juan believes that poetry is the "soul" of life, and every bit of life is "poetry". "I think every sentence and every word spoken is poetry, but we don't usually pay attention."
