In Shibetsu City, Hokkaido, where sheep breeding is thriving, a workshop was held by a veteran shearer to teach people working on ranches how to shear sheep.

In Shibetsu City, one of the leading sheep-producing areas in Hokkaido, work is being done to shear the sheep so that they do not get sick before the temperature rises.

In conjunction with this work, a workshop was held at a ranch in Shibetsu City to teach people working on the ranch how to shear sheep.

At the workshop on the 9th, veteran shearer Hayabusa Oishi skillfully sheared the hair covering the entire body using special hair clippers while holding the sheep in front of the four participants.

Following Mr. Oishi's example, the participants also sheared with clippers in their hands, and Mr. Oishi taught that it is important to hold the sheep down firmly so as not to injure the rampage during the work.

A woman in her 4s who works at a ranch in Shibetsu City, who participated in the course, said, "I participated because I wanted to improve even more, and I would like to contribute to the ranch by making use of what I have learned."

Mr. Oishi, who served as a lecturer, said, "Shearing is hard work, but I would like to continue holding workshops in the future so that the burden on the shepherd will be lightened as much as possible."
