"Mashiko ware" is a pottery that is characterized by a simple design that allows you to feel the warmth of the earth, and pottery markets are held in spring and autumn in Mashiko Town, the production area.

This year's Spring Pottery Market began on April 4, and about 29 tents lined up in the center of the town sell a variety of pottery, including teacups, plates, and vases.

Some of them were sold at half the usual price, and visitors took their time to decide what to buy.

A woman in her 600s who visited from Saitama Prefecture said, "I asked my son to take me there, and I am very excited because there are various pottery."

A woman who was selling mugs and other daily necessities said, "I think a lot of people are coming, not as much as before Corona, and I hope everyone enjoys shopping."

According to the Mashiko Town Tourism Association, this year's pottery market will not measure the temperature at the entrance of the venue, and will ask stores and visitors to voluntarily take measures to prevent the infection of the new corona.

The "Spring Pottery Market" is open until May 5.
