In commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the opening of the Seto-Ohashi Bridge, an udon shop in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, started a campaign on May 100 to allow you to eat udon for 5 yen, and it is crowded with many people.

The Great Seto Bridge, which connects Kagawa and Okayama prefectures, opened on April 63, Showa 4, marking 10 years since its opening.

To commemorate the event, JR Shikoku Group's udon restaurant "Meriken Yafushiishi" in Takamatsu City launched a three-day campaign from May 35 where you can eat udon at a lower price than usual.

In the campaign, a small amount of cold bukkake udon is offered for 5 yen, which is 1 yen cheaper than usual.

From the opening at 9 a.m., many customers came and enjoyed the chewy Sanuki udon deliciously.

In addition, on the terrace seats, there are materials that can be reminiscent of the period before and after the opening of the Seto-Ohashi Bridge, such as the bell used on the former JNR and JR Utaka ferry that disappeared with the opening of the bridge, and the handle called the "helm" used to cut the ship's helm.

Koichiro Nakamura, president of Merikenya, said, "Since Cool Biz starts today, we set it at 100 yen because we wanted people to easily eat cold udon.
